Here’s how the day at Glasgow’s SWG3 will pan out:

11am: ‘From Paisley to Pam’

Hilary Alexander chairs the first discussion ‘From Paisley to Pam’, cult designer and no f**cks given heroine, Pam Hogg offers first hand advice on how she paved her own career by breaking norms and pushing boundaries alongside insights of success from Martyn Roberts of Graduate Fashion Week & Fashion Scout and Alistair O’Neill, Professor of Fashion History and Theory at Central Saint Martins.

12.30: ‘Q&A In Conversation with Holly Fulton’

An interview with Scottish designer & lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art Holly Fulton, with an open floor Q&A. The Holly Fulton Studio offers a unique and ambitious approach to design. With its roots firmly placed in fashion and textiles, over the past 10 years the award winning label has grown to encompass multi-disciplinary collaborations. With a love of fitting pattern to projects, witty hand drawn print is the core to the studios product output. From bespoke interiors to prestige packaging, capsule collections to consultancy and creative direction, the studios attention to detail is well renowned. A distinctive sense of graphic luxury and understanding of innovative craftsmanship informs the studios ethos as well as a passion for the creative process, from in depth research to the finessing of ideas.

2pm: ‘Strength in Numbers’

Make-up artist, co-founder and creative director at REEK perfume, Molly Sheridan and renowned fashion photographer Stew Bryden talk the importance of a collaboration and team building. Having worked together for four years now, the pair’s skill set has grown significantly as both individuals and as a collective. The session offers a unique insight into the birth of sassy, bad-attitude driven REEK perfume and shares tales of their unique pathway to success. Stew and Molly will also be offering a sneak-peek into some as yet unreleased campaign imagery for an undisclosed global brand.

3pm: Highlights Reel vs Real Life, Anxiety on a Social Landscape’

A series of talks from young entrepreneurs and fashionistas including Scottish Blogger of the Year winner Ruth MacGilp of Urbanity Blog (me!) and Roobs from GRLCLB. The afternoon covers everything from smashing the patriarchy, running an independent online business, maintaining a fashion blog and how the internet impacts careers. You can learn about historical fashion designers and industry figures who have spoken up about mental health issues, such as McQueen and Isabella Blow and the ‘burnout’ issue and pressures facing young people and contemporary fashion designers such as Meadham Kirchoff & Jonathan Saunders.
