Thistle Street in Edinburgh is a hidden gem of the city; full of independent fashion boutiques, cafes and stunning architecture. Amongst this treasure trove lies Kakao by K, a Scandinavian store selling minimalist designs and gorgeous handmade jewellery. Click here to shop online!

Kakao by K serves up an exclusive collection of super-feminine and stylish clothes, accessories and jewellery, all with a distinct Scandinavian flavour and not readily available in the UK.

Style, quality and simplicity are what Scandinavia does best. Let these clean lines and light colours that are typical of Scandinavia into your wardrobe to be guaranteed effortless style and chic.

Kakao translates to ‘hot chocolate’ in Danish and much like this delectable delight Kakao by K aims to hit the pleasure mark with its wide range of designs. Hot trends, affordable boutique prices and a friendly service are all part of the shopping experience.

Ultimately, Kakao by K is focused on being a relaxed place for women to shop and browse. Danish owner Karina’s care-free, design spirit shines through her happy and welcoming boutique; so don’t be surprised if she cracks open the bubbly when you pop in, as looking after guests is another exciting ingredient of the Kakao by K philosophy.

The Urbanity team attended the opening ceremony of the new jewellery collection by Karina-the boutique’s owner- and mingled with other local bloggers such as Satisfashion and Edinburgh Etiquette while we munched on canapés and sipped homemade cocktails. We simply couldn’t resist a few cheeky purchases; we fell in love with the geometric shapes and delicate metals. Our favourite was this stunning hexagonal necklace, which so effortlessly compliments both formal and casual outfits.

We found out about the company through Edinburgh Fashion Week- Karina showcased some of the most covetable pieces from the store alongside other talented designers while we worked backstage. Ruth’s previous blog, The Question Cove, features an in-depth interview with the lovely Karina. If you’re interested in the origins and inspirations of Kakao by K, click here to read Ruth’s interview with Karina!
