Anyone that knows me or my blog knows how much I love championing Scottish fashion brands. As much as I can, I try to wear something every day from a Scotland-based designer, and when its not possible with my clothes, thats where accessories come in. I decided to do an outfit photoshoot with my flatmate, friend and talented photographer Skye Lyon to showcase some accessories from the new collections of some great Scottish brands; Iolla, Araminta Campbell and Silk Purse Sow’s Ear.
Last week I met up with Ann Martin from celebrated Scottish fashion blog Style Stamps
for a little street style shoot, as I wanted to show off my new items from Glasgow designer fashion brand Birds of Prayers
, a hugely oversized black smock dress with deep pockets and a flouncy skirt, and a giant jersey tote bag with enough room in it for the kitchen sink.
While chatting about the current state of blogging with Ann over a cappuccino at Round Square coffee house, we touched upon the issue of over-saturation of beauty bloggers right now, and how neither of us really prioritised writing about hair and make-up. I’ve been blogging less and less lately about all things beauty, so I’ve decided its time to narrow down my niche and drop it from the blog completely. Read on to find out why…
This semester at university I had to recreate Wonderland magazine with a 1950’s theme for the modern day. Together with my brilliant little team of fashion students I created a digital and printed copy of the publication styling, writing, editing directing and photographing all the content. Now that the project is finally over (phew!) I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite images we created during this project, featuring some fabulous fifties femmes. Let me know what you think!
Many bloggers, myself included, have the tendency to sugarcoat less than perfect experiences with brands in an attempt to maintain a PR-friendly image. But I’m going to be totally honest with you about my day at London Fashion Week Festival 2017, the newly revamped and relocated London Fashion Weekend. It kinda sucked.
(Stay with me, its not all doom and gloom…)
