Metallics are just one of those trends I absolutely adore. From shiny silver ankle boots to shimmering sequin skirts, I love rocking something super reflective and eye catching on a night out. While shopping at The Centre Livingston last month, I immediately fell for this unique mermaid mini dress on the Topshop sale rail, and decided to go matchy-matchy and pair it with my metallic cross body bag from Covet Edinburgh.
The Shore is probably on of my favourite places in Edinburgh. Beautiful modern buildings and amazing pubs and restaurants overlook the Water of Leith and the whole place looks like a mini Amsterdam. I had a great time shooting this outfit with Lyndsey from Edinburgh lifestyle blog The Quiet Resolution This was probably the first time in 2017 I’ve worn a dress without tights because Scotland is cold as hell. Looking at my pale legs you can also see why I usually choose to cover up in black! Scroll to the bottom to shop the look, which features Mandi Candi Boutique and Stella & Dot. I hope you enjoy!
Anyone that knows me or my blog knows how much I love championing Scottish fashion brands. As much as I can, I try to wear something every day from a Scotland-based designer, and when its not possible with my clothes, thats where accessories come in. I decided to do an outfit photoshoot with my flatmate, friend and talented photographer Skye Lyon to showcase some accessories from the new collections of some great Scottish brands; Iolla, Araminta Campbell and Silk Purse Sow’s Ear.
Last week I met up with Ann Martin from celebrated Scottish fashion blog Style Stamps
for a little street style shoot, as I wanted to show off my new items from Glasgow designer fashion brand Birds of Prayers
, a hugely oversized black smock dress with deep pockets and a flouncy skirt, and a giant jersey tote bag with enough room in it for the kitchen sink.
While chatting about the current state of blogging with Ann over a cappuccino at Round Square coffee house, we touched upon the issue of over-saturation of beauty bloggers right now, and how neither of us really prioritised writing about hair and make-up. I’ve been blogging less and less lately about all things beauty, so I’ve decided its time to narrow down my niche and drop it from the blog completely. Read on to find out why…
