Happy new year everyone! 2017 was a wild one, full of huge ups and its fair share of downs, so I am beyond excited about the year ahead for myself and my little blog! When it comes to resolutions, the biggie for me in 2018 is to continue my journey towards being more ethical in all walks of life, from food to fashion. Lately I have been getting bored with my usual look, so I decided it was time for a refresh, with a little help from some local girl bosses at Paint and The Nail Gal.
Last week I met up with Ann Martin from celebrated Scottish fashion blog Style Stamps for a little street style shoot, as I wanted to show off my new items from Glasgow designer fashion brand Birds of Prayers, a hugely oversized black smock dress with deep pockets and a flouncy skirt, and a giant jersey tote bag with enough room in it for the kitchen sink.
While chatting about the current state of blogging with Ann over a cappuccino at Round Square coffee house, we touched upon the issue of over-saturation of beauty bloggers right now, and how neither of us really prioritised writing about hair and make-up. I’ve been blogging less and less lately about all things beauty, so I’ve decided its time to narrow down my niche and drop it from the blog completely. Read on to find out why…
All Edinburgh folks know that Harvey Nichols on Multrees walk is the city’s ultimate style destination and go-to department store for the latest and greatest in fashion, beauty and food. An original pioneer of experiential retail (the consumer trend taking over the high street) with their in-store dining and drinking experiences, customisation, personal shopping, parties, trunk shows and even botox. But did you know about the ESPA Beauty Room? Yesterday I received a Personalised Facial from the UK spa beauty brand (thats also totally natural, plant-based and cruelty-free!) and a bag full of spa-at-home goodies, so I thought I’d do a lil post to review.
