A Scottish fashion brand I work for, Birds of Prayers, recently launched their new womenswear collection with a party at the Fashion Foundry studios, and have now released the official lookbook images. The photos are taken by Aleksandra Mordrzejewska, modelled by Georgia Garry (Model Team) and styled by I’ll Be Your Mirror with make up by Shaun Lavender.

Bespoke Birds Of Prayers

Before last week, I had never worn something custom-made before, minus a floral pink bridesmaids dress as a child! It felt truly special wearing a bespoke, couture sleeveless black sequin gown, let alone one made by my colleague and friend Piotr Pyrchala, that fit me like a glove.   Birds of Prayers is Piotr’s contemporary womenswear fashion brand, based between Edinburgh and Glasgow, which is part of emerging designer programme Fashion Foundry. Focussing on muted colour palette contrasting with bold colour blocking and textures, Birds of Prayers clothing is made to flatter all ages and body types, ignoring fast fashion trends by making high quality, long lasting classics by hand.

Trend Tuesday: Supersize Gingham

There’s no denying that gingham has been one of the biggest trends of 2017. From ankle boots to midi skirts, Bardot tops to shirt dresses, this twee little print has been plastered over the worldwide style scene for ages now, and I for one am definitely not bored yet!

Why I’m Dropping Beauty from the Blog

Last week I met up with Ann Martin from celebrated Scottish fashion blog Style Stamps for a little street style shoot, as I wanted to show off my new items from Glasgow designer fashion brand Birds of Prayers, a hugely oversized black smock dress with deep pockets and a flouncy skirt, and a giant jersey tote bag with enough room in it for the kitchen sink.
While chatting about the current state of blogging with Ann over a cappuccino at Round Square coffee house,  we touched upon the  issue of over-saturation of beauty bloggers right now, and how neither of us really prioritised writing about hair and make-up. I’ve been blogging less and less lately about all things beauty, so I’ve decided its time to narrow down my niche and drop it from the blog completely. Read on to find out why…
